A community-first plan.

Low-Investment, High-Benefit Uses

During the first several months of this project, the steering committee and community volunteers will be taking a deeper dive into the services that will provide the greatest benefit to our town. Combining past community survey results with ideas collected through conversations, the images below represent some of the possible uses.

We will also be raising funds to support necessary renovations to make the best use of the space both financially and based on community benefit. This includes adding a restroom to the northwest section of the building, reconnecting technology, filling in openings created during demolition of the three-story building, and more.

High-Impact Opportunities

Ideally, solutions for the building will be implemented using a phased approach. This allows us to make careful decisions and use donor gifts in the most responsible way. Fundraising will allow us to support any specific regulations or requirements. More complex uses, like childcare, fall under this phase.

Building a Sustainable Future

Once the building has been repurposed to meet current needs and maximize space, we will continue to plan for the future. This phase includes fundraising to support a long-term maintenance account. This creates a safety net as the needs of the community change and as the building requires maintenance.
